About
Built by operators who saw it firsthand
We started Rundoo in 2023 after seeing independent hardware stores left behind by software built for general retail.
Why Rundoo exists
The POS systems we reviewed shared the same gaps. They understood retail, but not lumber, monthly contractor balances, paper reconciliation, or the difference between a yard pull and a counter sale. Those workflows need one system.
The stores we met used an outdated system, a general retail POS full of workarounds, or spreadsheets and notebooks. Each option created pricing gaps, lost margin, and hours of reconciliation that the right system should handle.
We built Rundoo for those problems alone. We are not building software for every part of your business. We are building the right POS for hardware and building supply stores.

What guides us
01
Depth beats broad coverage
We build only for hardware and supply stores. That focus lets us understand the work deeply and build useful tools instead of covering every retail scenario halfway.
02
Operators know what software cannot
Every Rundoo feature starts with a conversation with a store owner or manager. We observe how stores work, then build around those realities instead of asking teams to change for the software.
03
Margin comes before volume
Independent hardware stores cannot match chain buying power. Staying viable means tighter margins, quicker reconciliation, and stronger contractor relationships. Those are the outcomes we optimize for.
04
Software that stays out of the way
Rundoo should feel almost invisible. Transactions move quickly, pricing stays current, and closing is clean. When it works, you are focused on the business, not the software.
