Store Stories

How stores use Rundoo

"Lumber prices moved faster than we could update the system. A crew foreman would take 200 board feet, and by invoice time the margin was gone. Rundoo's pricing engine flagged the SKUs automatically. We review it each morning now instead of chasing it every afternoon."

Jim Kowalski, Owner, Kowalski Building Supply

Early-access pilot participant, Store plan

"House accounts lived on index cards. When a contractor called about his balance, I had to find a file folder. Now Rundoo shows any account balance at the counter in two seconds. Month-end reconciliation used to take most of a day. Now it takes an hour."

Owner-operator, family hardware store

Mountain West, Counter plan

"The yard was always a separate world. The counter team did not know what was there, and the yard crew did not know what had sold. Rundoo connected them. Now the counter can confirm six pallets of a specific block before I drive back to check."

Operations manager, Pinecrest Materials

Early-access pilot participant, Store plan

"We opened a second location last spring, and I dreaded managing pricing across both stores. With the Chain plan, I set the pricing rules once, and both counters use the same engine. Our margins are more consistent now than they were with one store."

What changing over looks like

Before Rundoo

Pricing changes are manual, usually after someone spots a margin issue at day end. House accounts live on paper or in a spreadsheet separate from the counter system. The yard keeps carbon copies or separate records. Closing means reconciling at least two record sets.

Special orders sit in a notebook or on sticky notes by the register. When an item arrives, someone must remember who ordered it. Supplier invoices and PO receipts are reconciled apart from the POS, usually weekly or monthly.

After Rundoo

Rundoo's AI pricing engine flags cost changes automatically. House accounts build in Rundoo, invoices print at the counter, and statements are available anytime. Digital yard transfers update inventory in real time. End-of-day reconciliation is one report.

Rundoo queues special orders with customer contact and deposit details. When the item arrives and is checked against the PO, the system brings up the order automatically. Closing means confirming receipt and collecting the balance.
